The simplest and fastest way to check results of your credit dispute is to compare your new and old reports side by side. See if everything you requested to be changed, deleted or whatever is done.
Equifax and TransUnion normally show all challenged items with the results for each one in the very beginning of their reports under INVESTIGATION RESULTS. See a good example from TransUnion. Experian displays results in similar way in the end of the report .
Once you see the results you will learn the outcome of the dispute. There are several possible scenarios.
Dispute was not investigated. There are two likely reasons. First reason is that your credit dispute was simply ignored. Second one could be that you weren't clear enough. Either way, write a follow-up letter. Check Getting Response for more information.
Dispute was investigated and verified as accurate. That could mean that credit reporting agency did verification of debt or VOD with the creditor. Or credit agency just brushed your dispute off. Dispute it again in future but wait for about 30+ days.
Dispute was investigated and found to be inaccurate or unverifiable. This is what you hoped for. Your negative records are removed and you credit score recovered or is recovering fast.
Disputed item could not be verified as belonging to you. Credit reporting agency couldn't get VOD from the creditors. Negative entries are removed.
Disputed item was deleted, but later verified and listed again on your report. That means that creditor didn't supply VOD to the credit reporting agency within required 30 days. So credit agency removed it only to put it back later once it was able to verify debt. Try to send another dispute letter.
